Honokiol (DHH-B) is a poly-phenolic compound has been studied for its neuroprotective properties. Its therapeutic potential has been researched in anxiety, pain, cerebrovascular injury, epilepsy, and cognitive disorders including Alzheimer’s disease. It has been traditionally used in medical practices throughout much of Southeast Asia, but become more widely studied due to its pleiotropic effects. DHH-B, dihydrohonokiol-B, is a natural supplement which has been researched for support of mood and anxiolytic effects. Treatment with DHH-B does not cause any significant changes in motor activity or muscle relaxation. Alcohol should be avoided when using this supplement. This supplement may provoke sleep when alertness is required.
